All PrecisionPoint data warehouse solutions are supported via our ‘managed data service’, something that goes far beyond the usual level of support that a BI provider would normally deliver…..

In a traditional BI product, or perhaps even within a custom-built BI solution, it is likely that there will be a level of support provided. This support will cover the eventuality that a ‘button click’ doesn’t work, or the system goes offline etc., however it is almost always restricted to the function of the tool that is in place, and does not cover data – Surely the important part of a BI solution, right?

At PrecisionPoint, we do things differently, and whilst we will of course support our product in the same way as any other provider, we also pride ourselves on supporting the data itself!

Through the use of active monitoring, we are alerted when any step of the data build process is enacted – This allows us visibility of when a process starts and ends, provides statistics on process timing, monitors key data integration and validation metrics, and perhaps most importantly - lets us know in the unlikely event that there has been a problem, all whilst NEVER taking any data outside of your organisation!

So, what does this mean in reality, how does this relate to our managed data service…….?

It’s simple really (Easy to say after 15+ years doing this of course!) – We always know when your data build has been completed and we always know when there has been a problem, allowing us (given the correct level of permissive access of course) to connect to your environment and resolve any issue that may arise, or to alert you if the source of the problem lies outside of our control.

Likewise, if we see that there are issues with data validity (the fundamental USP that lies at the core of PrecisionPoint) we can see this within the reported metrics, and can take action to resolve, or raise with you to advise that something has gone awry and needs to be fixed.
