Can you trust the numbers your Dynamics reporting gives you?
The Reporting Trust Assessment is a fast, structured read of whether your Dynamics 365 reporting and data can be trusted, and where the gaps are. It tells you where you actually stand across the things that make reporting trustworthy, and what to do first, before you spend anything on a fix.
Free and no obligation·a structured read, not a sales call·graded by specialists who have done nothing but Dynamics data since 2002.
What is the Reporting Trust Assessment?
It is a short, structured self-assessment that establishes how far your Dynamics reporting and data are from trustworthy, and names the specific gaps. It is the lowest-commitment way to answer the question every finance and data leader eventually asks, can we rely on these numbers, without commissioning a full diagnostic or committing to a project.
Think of it as a triage. It will not rebuild your estate, and it does not pretend to. What it does is tell you honestly whether you have a quick fix, a foundations problem, or an estate that is already in good shape, so that whatever you do next is aimed at the right target.
The six things that make reporting trustworthy
Trust is not one thing, it is six, and reporting fails on whichever is weakest. The assessment reads each of them for your estate, so you find out not just whether there is a problem but where it sits.
- Reconciliation. Do your reports agree with the ERP, and with each other? This is where most trust problems start.
- Month-end. Does the close run from a governed model, or from a week of spreadsheet surgery that only one person understands?
- Consolidation. If you run multiple entities or currencies, do they resolve into one reconciled group figure, or is that a manual exercise every period?
- Governance. Can you say who can see what, and trace a number back to its source? An estate that cannot is one an audit will expose.
- Platform. Is the data on a modern, supported path, or on a pipe that is being retired and a rebuild you have not planned?
- Skills and ownership. Is there someone who owns and can run the estate, or is it one person's undocumented knowledge?
What the assessment gives you back
You get a clear read on where your reporting stands across those six dimensions, the specific gaps that are undermining trust, and a recommended first step, sized to what the evidence shows rather than to a sales target. It is a decision-grade read you can act on or take to a colleague.
-
Where you stand.
An honest picture of your reporting across reconciliation, month-end, consolidation, governance, platform and ownership.
-
The gaps that matter.
The specific weaknesses undermining trust, in priority order, so you know what is actually causing the problem.
-
The right first move.
A recommended next step, from a quick fix to a foundations rebuild, or reassurance that you are in good shape and do not need us.
It can tell you that you are fine
An assessment that can only ever conclude that you need to buy something is a sales call with a form attached. This one can tell you that your reporting is in good shape and that you do not need us, and sometimes it does. That is the whole point of a diagnostic, and it is why the read is worth trusting.
We would rather give you an honest answer and earn the conversation later than talk you into a project you do not need. If the assessment says you have a specific, contained problem, we will say so, and if it says your estate is sound, you will hear that too.
The assessment: common questions
How is this different from the reporting health-check?
The Reporting Trust Assessment is a free, self-serve read that tells you roughly where you stand and what to do first. The reporting health-check is a paid, hands-on diagnostic where our specialists trace your actual disputed numbers back to source. The assessment tells you whether you need the health-check; the health-check does the deep work.
Is it really free, and is there a catch?
Yes, it is free, and the catch is only that we hope you will think of us if the answer is that you need help. There is no obligation, no cost, and no commitment to a project. If the assessment says you are fine, that is a complete and honest outcome.
How long does it take?
Only a few minutes to complete. It is deliberately short, because its job is triage, not a full audit. If your situation needs deeper work, the assessment will tell you, and you decide whether to go further from there.
Who is it for?
Anyone responsible for Dynamics 365 reporting or data who wants to know whether the numbers can be trusted: finance directors, IT directors, heads of data, and the teams who support them. You do not need to be technical to complete it, and you do not need to have decided anything.
