D365 Export to data lake to Synapse Link Migration

Written by Jonathan Mark | Aug 12, 2024 3:14:24 PM

As many D365 F&O consumers are aware, Microsoft will discontinue support for the D365 export to data lake as of Nov 1.  This change may pose a development challenge for those who have built processes to move their D365 F&O data to a SQL database.

The new approach is to deploy Synapse Link (or Fabric Link), which can deliver either CSV or delta lake files into your Azure data lake, but there are changes in folder structure and content within this solution, so it’s not as simple as repointing your existing process!

However, all is not lost as PrecisionPoint have a functional SaaS solution to move Synapse Link data to Azure SQL, Azure managed instance, or on-premise SQL Server (really any SQL destination of your choice), that will allow you to obtain any data that you may need from your D365 F&O estate!

We can implement and configure our SaaS offering within a matter of hours, saving you from a potentially lengthy and complex project and allowing you to keep your data warehouse complete!

What’s more, you will also be able to control the data you need via a dedicated UI that allows selection of tables, fields and other configuration options for your export operation.
