Executive Team

PrecisionPoint Software has brought together a team of talented business intelligence specialists and developers. With over 100 years of experience in enterprise business intelligence and ERP systems the PrecisionPoint Software team has encapsulated all of their know-how into the PrecisionPoint Business Warehouse products for the benefit of mid-market and enterprise customers.

Michael Evans, CEO
Michael is a qualified chartered accountant by training, however, after an initial stint in industry working for Esso and The Wellcome Foundation, he has spent the bulk of his career as an executive in the software industry. Michael’s first job in software was with Comshare, one of the pioneers of Business Intelligence software.  Initially working in London, Michael moved to the USA where he established the Financial Applications Division, which grew to be one of the leading brands worldwide in this sector, supplying sophisticated modeling, reporting, consolidation and budgeting software.
After Comshare, Michael moved back to the UK, where he set up Analyst Financials Ltd, a company focused on general ledger reporting.  Analyst Financials pursued an OEM model and went on to acquire many leading ledger vendors in both the USA and Europe as partners, who in turn used Analyst Financials technology to provide their customers with advanced reporting and budgeting capabilities.

Following the sale of Analyst Financials in 2005, Michael joined GDCM as the CEO where he steered the company from a pre-revenue position to that of market leader. In 2009, following the success of GDCM in the USA, the board of the company took the decision to relocate the head office to California, but Michael elected not to go.
Michael joined PrecisionPoint Software in September 2009.

Dr Nigel A. Geary, President of PrecisionPoint Inc.

Nigel Geary has been involved in Business Intelligence (BI) and analytic applications since 1978 following his doctorate in computer modeling. After 10-years of working on mainframe Decision Support Systems (DSS), initially as a Software Engineer, Business Consultant and finally Sales Manager with Fortune 1000 customers in the USA and the UK, Nigel became the UK evangelist for the first wave of SQL client-server database technology launching Gupta SQLBase and SQLWindows in 1988. In 1990/91 Nigel helped establish Arbor Software (now merged with Hyperion Solutions) authors of the first OLAP server, Essbase, setting up their international operations in Europe and then Asia Pacific. Returning to London in 2000 Nigel entered the Microsoft Dynamics arena joining one the largest Microsoft Dynamics Certified Partners as Head of Business Intelligence. Nigel founded PrecisionPoint Software in October, 2002 with a clear mission to create data warehouse software to address the specific needs of mid-market ERP users.
Dave Stokes, Head of Product Development & Support

Dave has spent over 20 years in the software industry, coming straight out of college as a raw developer in 1989.  After 6 years learning his trade he joined Tetra plc and coded the first Windows SQL Server release of their ERP product.  During this time Tetra achieved the UK’s largest SQL Server implementations and achieved benchmarks in excess of 1000 users.  4 years later Dave was managing the whole of platform development.  In 1999 Tetra was acquired by Sage, a FTSE 100 software company.   There he headed up a team to solve generic product problems across the Sage portfolio.  The generic licensing module he developed was used by one-third of all UK business without a single bug being raised.   Over the next half-dozen years he became a trouble-shooter for the CTO, by managing underperforming or transitioning teams.   Dave’s hardcore interest in reporting and analytics was re-kindled in 2005 when he was asked to head up the Business Intelligence division at Sage.  After a chance meeting with Nigel Geary in 2008 they both realised that their vision for Business Intelligence was the same and this resulted in Dave joining PrecisionPoint in January 2009.
